Data Source Methodology

Purpose
This page explains how Prime Signal sources, researches, validates and documents US and UK B2B company and decision-maker records.
1. Source framework
Prime Signal combines current public and authoritative research with client-provided information and authorised third-party data sources. Company websites, official registers, professional profiles, public directories, published company materials and other legitimate sources may be used according to the field being researched and the requirements of the project. Third-party data is used only where the applicable terms permit the intended use and, where relevant, onward client delivery.
Search may be used to locate and corroborate evidence. The authority of a researched fact comes from the underlying source used to support it.
For US records, authoritative sources may include state business-entity registers, SEC EDGAR, SAM.gov, relevant federal databases and official state or sector licensing registers.
For UK records, authoritative sources may include Companies House, GOV.UK records, The Gazette, the FCA and other relevant official, regulatory or professional registers.
2. Contact data sourcing
Business email addresses are obtained from publicly available or authorised sources before validation. Company telephone numbers are normally sourced from company websites, official listings or other authoritative business sources.
Where an individual business email is included in a delivered record, the address is independently validated before delivery. Contact data that does not meet the applicable delivery standard is excluded, left unresolved or replaced.
Mobile and direct-dial information is optional and supplied only where the project requires it and an authorised source permits onward client use. Availability varies by market, company and individual. Source and validation are treated separately: the source establishes where information originated, while validation establishes the checks carried out before it is accepted for delivery.
3. Company verification
Prime Signal checks the live company website and domain, current business activity, location and the company fields required by the buyer’s brief. Records are assessed against the agreed ICP and campaign criteria before delivery.
Authoritative records are used where legal status, regulatory status, licensing or another official company fact is material to qualification.
4. Decision-maker verification
The named decision-maker is checked against current professional and company evidence, which may include LinkedIn, company leadership or team pages and other relevant professional sources.
Current employer, role and seniority are confirmed before the record is approved. Contact details are then validated against the verified individual and company record before delivery.
5. Email and phone validation
Individual business emails are independently validated before delivery. Checks may include company and domain confirmation, DNS and mail-server checks, mailbox-level validation where technically available, catch-all identification and cross-checking against supporting information.
Addresses that cannot be sufficiently validated are excluded, left unresolved or otherwise classified rather than represented as confirmed verified business emails.
Company telephone numbers are checked against current public or authoritative business sources. Mobile or direct-dial numbers, where supplied, are checked for consistency with the current decision-maker and company record and must come from an authorised source that permits client use.
6. AI-assisted research
AI may be used to organise, classify, summarise or interpret retained research evidence and to support Prime Intelligence or Prime Bespoke analysis.
AI is not used to invent contact details or unsupported factual claims. Research-based conclusions and outreach intelligence must remain grounded in the supporting evidence retained for the record.
7. Source evidence
Prime Signal retains source evidence where it is material to validation, qualification, a researched claim or a client-specific requirement. Evidence may include source type, source URL, verification date, validation status, confidence classification and supporting notes.
The level of evidence supplied can be agreed at project, record or individual-field level. For Prime Intelligence and Prime Bespoke, material researched claims are supported by current evidence wherever appropriate.
8. Quality standards and conflicting evidence
Prime Signal applies a minimum 97% data accuracy standard against the agreed delivery criteria. Business emails represented as verified must meet the applicable validation standard at the time of delivery.
Material conflicts are resolved before delivery. Where a required company, decision-maker or research field cannot be substantiated to the agreed standard, the record is removed or replaced. Prime Bespoke fields follow the mandatory-field and agreed fallback rules confirmed before fulfilment.
9. Data freshness and replacement protection
Every record is checked before delivery and includes a verification date showing when the company, decision-maker and research evidence was last reviewed.
Business information can change after verification. Qualifying issues reported within 30 calendar days of delivery are covered by Prime Signal’s replacement protection and are handled under the Prime Signal Service Terms.
